The source of this track is a song I wrote in 2006, "Kalte Nacht", around 14 years old. The melodies have clung to my attention for awhile, wanting to reimagine every part of the song and keep iterating. Kalte Nacht has always felt like an entry to a world that tapped into qualities words could never describe.
I have been able to come back to the bell melodies time and time again to pull abstractions from and develop new shapes. "Serein", "Redmoss", and "Waldeinsamkeit" (from the album Inglenook) are the first introduced iterations, just small pieces of the original song. Auspiciously, Kalte Nacht has afforded me much latitude and affection towards sound description, and bringing to life moments which can be felt again through changes of understanding.
The layering never ends; neither do the affect and the effect.
